Summer Greetings NREP family and friends.

We hope that everyone is enjoying a peaceful and relaxing summer! July is a time where the community typically comes together to celebrate independence and where the days are packed full of fun events, such as barbeques, parades, fireworks, trips to the pool, destination vacations, road trips, etc. The recent pandemic has put a halt to many of these events and that can put a damper on summer. Honestly, these are uncertain times and most of us have never experienced the changes that our communities, families and the world are going through. Sometimes, we might find ourselves trapped in our home completely at a loss for how to use our time. If this is the case, here are a few productive ideas to keep busy:
  • Read a new book or re-read an old book from childhood
  • Take up exercise
  • Go on a hike
  • Play music and dance to a favorite song
  • Watch live concerts streamed on YouTube or Instagram
  • Write a letter to a loved one
  • Organize a cluttered area
  • Make fresh lemonade
  • Plant a garden/work in the garden
  • Make homemade ice cream/popsicles
  • Set up fun activities in the backyard
  • Practice gratitude
  • Rest and enjoy family.
You get the idea…whatever activity you choose, please continue to practice social distancing and stay safe. July, on average, is the warmest month of the year and considered the “Dog Days of Summer.” It can be extremely hot and humid. Be sure to stay cool and drink plenty of water. This time also marks the second half of the year. It is a great time to stop and reflect on the year so far and acknowledge how blessed we are to live in the USA and for the many great opportunities we have like no other country.

DID YOU KNOW...The nose of a dog is so sensitive that it can tell the difference between a tub of water and a tub of water with a teaspoon of salt in it. STRANGE FACT BUT TRUE!
