National Freedom Day
Posted on 02/01/2021
DecorativeFebruary 1 is National Freedom Day. This holiday commemorates a day in 1863, when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that ultimately led to the signing of the 13th Amendment of the Constitution. We should all pause and take a moment to reflect on the importance of this great day—a day that afforded all citizens of this extraordinary country their freedom. February 1 kicks off a month-long celebration of Black History. Be thankful and celebrate our freedom...stand proud to be an American.
