Coronavirus Update Please Report COVID-19 Cases
Please report all positive cases of COVID-19 involving a student to the school nurse as soon as the case is confirmed. By quickly reporting cases to the school nurse, the required contact tracing can be completed in order to keep all members of the school community healthy and safe. Anyone exhibiting signs of illness, regardless of whether or not they have tested positive for COVID-19, is to stay home. Thank you.

Transportation Open House and Hiring Event
The Frederick County Public Schools Transportation Department is hosting an open house and hiring event on Friday, May 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During the event, individuals are invited to visit the transportation department and learn the many benefits of working as an FCPS school bus driver.

Preschool Registration
Preliminary applications for the 2021-22 FCPS pre-kindergarten program are still being accepted from the families of eligible students residing in the Apple Pie Ridge, Evendale, Gainesboro, Indian Hollow, Jordan Springs, Middletown, Redbud Run and Stonewall elementary school attendance zones.

Student Records Notification
On June 30, all Individualized Education Program (IEP) records for 2016 FCPS graduates and students who were enrolled in an FCPS school and left the division in 2016 will be destroyed in compliance with the Library of Virginia’s Records Retention and Disposition Schedule. Individuals who need to obtain a copy of the records scheduled to be destroyed must contact the FCPS Records Center prior to June 25 by calling 540-662-3888 ext. 65102.

Calendar Amendment
Due to Virginia holding a primary election on June 8 and 17 schools serving as polling places, the school calendar has been amended to make Tuesday, June 8 a planning/outreach day and Wednesday, June 9, a regular in-person school day.

Plans for 2021-2022 School Year
Frederick County Public Schools Plans to Provide In-Person Learning Five Days a Week in 2021-22
Schools Superintendent David Sovine has announced the school division is planning to provide in-person learning five days a week for the 2021-22 school year with consideration being given to an all distance learning option being made available on a limited basis.

James Wood, Millbrook and Sherando High Schools to Host In-Person Graduation Ceremonies
James Wood, Millbrook and Sherando high schools will host in-person graduation ceremonies outdoors in June. The number of people attending each ceremony will be limited with each graduating senior receiving six admission tickets they may distribute to family and friends.
